Objective:
The student will be able to read their fluency sheet with few to no errors and then begin the process of reading an entire text without error in order to improve/strengthen their fluency. Learning Targets: -Student will be able to identify sight words within the text -Student will be able to read through their fluency sheet with few to no errors and without assistance -Student will be able to read the text with few to no errors Anticipatory Set: the student will be prompted to go through their sight word flash cards before attempting their fluency sheet. The Lesson: -First, the teacher will set up the fluency worksheet for practice. -Next, the teacher will explain the purpose of the task to the student. -Then, once the student has an understanding of the directions; the teacher will start having the student read his fluency sheet and go through the book after. -Once the student is finished reading and pronouncing the text and book correctly; then the informal summative assessment will be over. -The teacher will then wrap up the lesson by reviewing with the student what they accomplished today, and will allow the student to put a sticker on his/her sticker chart or other method of praise. Assessment: Student will be able to read aloud the given text without prompts and few/no errors. Closure: After the assessment has been given, the teacher will then close with feedback for the student that is both effective and positive. |
